Today was the day...Abby had her last cast removed! After it was taken off, we took her to the office next door to have her fitted for her brace. She'll wear this fun contraption for 3 months, 23 hours every day. We're excited to finally give her real baths here at home. Yet again, we'll get to change diapers in a new way :) And yes, it hurts to get kicked with it. Today and tomorrow we'll slowly tighten the boot on her left foot in order to get the heel to the back of the boot, where it needs to be. I've done it once so far and it's not the most fun...poor babe. She's so patient.

She also had another ultrasound on her hips - all is still good there.
In 6 weeks we'll go in again to have her braces adjusted, if needed. She'll have another ultrasound or an x-ray on her hips as well to continue monitoring their status.
The braces haven't slowed down her leg movement, thankfully. She's still kicking both legs quite a bit. I'm not going to be surprised when she accidentally kicks herself in the face... I could hardly get her to keep still while I took a few quick pictures this afternoon. Apologies for the number (well, sorry, not sorry) of pictures. She's just so cute!
Sidenote: As I type this, she's kicking her toys instead of trying to grab them with her hands. She's figured out a fun new game! :)
