Coming Down the Homestretch

Today brought yet another visit to Shriner's. Not only was this the quickest, most efficient visit, we received good news. Both of Abby's hips are where they need to be - no more hip dysplasia to worry about (well, for now at least)! Our doctor still wants us to keep her in the harness until her casting is done, just to remind the hips that they need to stay where they are.

The casting process went smoothly. The doctor said that she anticipates lengthening her Achilles tendon 2 weeks from today. The cast they place on that day will be on for 3 weeks and will be her last.

In other news, she weighs 10 lbs. 12 3/4 oz. Yes, she loves to eat.

Today her 6th cast was placed. Thank heavens this time has flown by! We are so excited that we're almost done with this and even more excited that she won't remember the process.

Short and sweet, you're welcome.
